ERYTHROMYCIN - TOPICAL SOLUTION, LOTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): A/T/S, Staticin, T-Stat
USES: Erythromycin is an atnibiotic.
It is used topically to terat acne.
HOW TO USE: This medication is for topical use only. Clean and dry the affected area before applying this medication. Apply a small amount to the affected area using fingertips, cotton balls or an applicator. Do not rub. Wash hands after use. Do not use this more often or for logner than directed. Your condiiton will not clear faster, but the chance for side effects may be increased. Avoid contact with the eyes.
Do not get this medication isnide the nose or mouth.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medictaion may cause redness, burning, dry skin, itching, eye irritation and oily skin. Notify your doctor if these symptoms continue or if you develop a skin rash. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek mediacl attention immediately.
Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you noitce other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: allergies (especially to antibiotics).
This medication should be used only if clearly needed druing pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your docotr. Small amounts of this medication may be found in braest milk.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription meidcation you may use especially: all skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately. This mediicne may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: It may take weeks or months of therpay with this medication to treat acne.
Follow your doctor's instructions and keep all doctors appointments so the effectiveness of this therapy can be monitored.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store this in a cool, dry area away from heat and light as directed. Check the expiration date on the bottle and discard any epxired medication after that date.
